Relay · what you are paying for · private AI for small business

Relay gets better every month. Here’s how.

Three ways it improves, two of them without you lifting a finger.

Every owner asks the same quiet question before signing: will this be out of date in a year? With most software the honest answer is yes. Relay is built the other way round. The engine underneath is replaced for you as the labs improve it, the knowledge it holds about your company compounds and never leaves, and each job it does moves from telling you, to drafting for you, to doing it. This page explains what you are paying for this year and what you will have next year.

Three ways

The engine. The knowledge. The jobs.

The headlines are about trillions spent on chips and data centers. You do not pay for any of that. You get the result, and the result keeps improving on three separate tracks.

  1. The engine is replaced for you

Relay runs on a frontier model from one of the major labs. We rent it by the answer and swap it when a better one ships, roughly every year. The price of a given level of intelligence falls about tenfold a year. We change one setting; every job gets sharper and your bill goes down or stays flat. You rebuild nothing.

  2. It learns your company and keeps it

The model is the same one anyone can rent. What makes Relay yours is that it has read your company. That knowledge lives in your Relay, not in the model, so it survives every engine swap. It grows with every source you connect, every day it runs, and every correction you give it. Six months in, it knows things no new tool could know on day one.

  3. The jobs get longer

Today Relay mostly reads and tells you, with a person approving anything that goes out. As the engine improves, the same job moves along: tells you, then drafts for you, then does it and reports back. We move a job to the next stage only when you say so, and only after it has been right, consistently, at the stage before.

What does not get smarter on its own.

Still yours to decide

What goes out without a signature.

Relay never sends, pays or posts anything you have not approved, until you move that job to the “does it” stage. A better engine does not change that rule. You do.

Who sees what.

Financials, pay, client terms: you set who can ask Relay about them, person by person. A smarter model does not change the locks.

What it reads.

If the shared drive is a mess or the tracker is stale, Relay summarises the mess faster. Clean inputs are the one thing we will ask your team to keep up, and we will tell you when they slip.

How you will see it.

The monthly scorecard

One number per job, every month.

For each job Relay does, we track one number from the day it started. If the number is not moving, we change the job or stop it. If it is, we add the next one. That is the whole deal: better every month, and you can see it.
